“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.”
Luke 6:36 {KJV)}
Greetings Fellow Doorkeepers!
We are off to a great start this year. We have held several activities, events, and meetings, all of which have been extremely well attended by the membership.
Thanks to all that donated blankets for the “Warm Nights New Blankets Project!” Our goal was to collect 100 blankets for the Homeless. God blessed the Blanket Project with an overflow of 21 blankets, for a total of 121 blankets. Thank you to all that donated the blankets, the individuals that prayed over the blankets and helped to prepare the blankets for distribution, and the Teams that delivered the blankets to the Homeless! I am certain that our donations of blankets helped the Homeless in some way, and they realize that others do care about them and want to help. Homelessness is a serious concern in the District of Columbia. As we went around to the various sectors of the District of Columbia, the recipients of the blankets wanted and needed more – clothing items and of course, food. We will continue to do what we can to help those in need throughout the year.
On Saturday, February 8, 2020, we held our first Presidents’ Council / Guardians’ Meeting for 2020 at Macedonia Community Church. There were approximately 60 Ushers’ Ministry Presidents and Guardians in attendance. Thanks to all that attended the meeting! Special thanks to the following for sponsoring the delicious breakfast:
