President’s April Greeting

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 (KJV)

Greetings Fellow Doorkeepers!

I would like to extend a special thank you to the members that traveled to Elizabeth, New Jersey for their 54th Memorial Weekend on March 2nd and 3rd! God blessed us with traveling mercy to and from New Jersey. Many thanks to the Mabel C. Cooper Chorus for singing at the Memorial Program!

On March 10th, we observed Elijah A. Hamilton / William H. Davis National Day at Antoich Baptist Church. Evangelist Tyrell Holcomb delivered the message. The title of Evangelist Holcomb’s message was “I’m Committed Beyond My Conditions.” Congratulations to Sister Marie C. Thomas and Brother Joseph Durbin on receiving the William H. Davis Award for dedicated and faithful service to the ICUA. Thanks to the Mabel C. Cooper Chorus for rendering the music, and the Catherine E. Mills School of Ushering for serving. Kudos to the Events Department and the William H. Davis Working Unit for planning an outstanding and spirit-filled program to honor the ones who paved the way for the National Convention to celebrate 100 years, and the ICUA their 107th Anniversary this year.

On March 17th, we observed our “107th Annual Annie B. Bailey Memorial Service” at Macedonia Community Church. Elder Alfred H. McCain, Sr. delivered the Memorial Message. The theme for the occasion was “Entering the Gates of Heaven.”

The 62nd Eastern Region Conference was held March 29th through 30th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Our pre-registration Delegates consisted of 69 Seniors – 2 Young Adults – and 10 Juniors. We also had 60 Adults and 4 Youth attending the Banquet. The Workshops offered were enriching, educational, and encouraging.

All praises to God for a successful 62nd Eastern Region Conference and traveling mercies. Congratulations to Director Charles J. Brown for his vision to have Workshops during the Conference, and for a successful 62nd Eastern Region Conference.

On Sunday, March 31st, we traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the ICUA of Pennsylvania’s 99th Memorial Service at Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church.
