The Education and Scholarship Department

The Education and Scholarship Department shall develop and provide a broad range of training programs to produce an ever-expanding corps of church ushers who are endowed with skill in the universal systematic method of church ushering. The administration of immediate, temporary aid and comfort to the sick; and those leadership skills necessary to ensure that ushers may effectively serve our church community. The Education and Scholarship Department shall also develop, implement, and administer scholarship programs to assist in the training and development of junior and young adults of member churches of the Religious Corporation.

The Events Department shall plan, implement, and perpetuate programs and events for the advancement of Christian Fellowship and Church Ushering.

The Alma Cooper Hawkins Public Relations Department shall promote church ushering through the dissemination of information through appropriate religious networks regarding the programs, activities and services provided by this Religious Corporation.

The Policy and Rules Department

Job Candidate

The Policy and Rules Department shall develop and recommend through research and study, new policies, programs, and procedures which address the needs of the contemporary Religious Corporation and ensure the effective carrying out of the mission of church ushering. Evaluate ICUA operational effectiveness on a continuing basis and recommend appropriate corrective measures. Receive, develop, review, and distribute proposed resolutions ensuring conformance to eligibility tests of the ICUA and/or Bylaws of the National United Church Ushers Association of America, Inc.

The Membership Services and Outreach Department shall promote the growth of the membership of this Religious Corporation and develop programs to aid the membership and provide service to the community.

Business Consultation

The Budget and Finance Department shall through the application of sound financial planning and analysis and the generation of quarterly reports to the Board of Trustees, ensuring the continued financial health and stability of the Religious Corporation.

The Young Adult Department shall promote the growth and development of the young adult membership in support of the work of the Religious Corporation. The Young Adult Counselor and Young Adult Co-counselor shall be appointed from the Senior Membership by the President of the Religious Corporation.

The Junior and Young Peoples Department

The Junior and Young Peoples Department shall promote the growth and development of the junior membership in support of the work of this Religious Corporation. The Junior and Young Peoples Supervisor and the Junior and Young Peoples Assistant Supervisor shall be appointed from the Senior membership by the President of this Religious Corporation.

The election of officers for the calendar year 2023 for the Interdenominational Church Ushers’ Association (ICUA) of Washington, D.C., and Vicinity, Inc. is currently scheduled to be held on Monday, December 12, 2022.

 

The Nominating Committee is requesting your cooperation in finding qualified persons to fill the following positions:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Recording Secretary

  • Assistant Recording Secretary

  • Board of Trustees (3 vacancies)

  • Nominating Committee (4 vacancies)

  • Treasurer

  • Sergeant-At-Arms

  • Assistant Sergeant-At-Arms

  • Assistant Financial Secretary

Interested individuals for any of the above positions MUST complete the attached Revised 2023 ICUA Resume and Consent forms. If you are applying for more than one position, a resume must be submitted for each position separately.
