Alma Cooper Hawkins Public Relations Department
MISSION: To promote church ushering through the dissemination of information regarding the programs, activities and services provided by the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association of Washington, DC and Vicinity, Inc.
Our Department has five working units as follows:

BULLETINS: A monthly publication (except July-August issue which is combined), containing information from the ICUA President, Department Directors, Committee Chairpersons, member churches, and paid advertisements. Information to be included in the bulletin is due to the Department, on the first Saturday at 1:30 pm, for the following month’s bulletin, except for the September issue, when the news is due the first Saturday in July. Articles should be typed single-spaced in Times New Roman, Font 10 and e-mailed, faxed, or mailed to the ICUA.

DOORKEEPER: A National publication issued quarterly, containing information from the Eastern, Central, Southern, and Western Regions. The State Reporter prepares and submits the articles for the Doorkeeper.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: A Monthly Fact Sheet with events and activities of the ICUA, local churches, Eastern Region, and National United Church Ushers Association of America (NUCUAA). The Assistant Director of the Department is responsible for preparing the Fact Sheet. All information to be included on the Fact Sheet must be received two weeks in advance of the ICUA monthly business meeting.

SECRETARIAL SERVICES: Maintains and provides an up to date mailing list of all ICUA Churches and Associate members.

WORKBOOK: A publication, revised annually containing a brief description of the ICUA history, a current listing of all Officers (Elected and Appointed, affiliated churches, and a highlight of each Department.
Our Department has two outreach projects for each year. An Adopt-a-Classroom and Angel tree were our 2017 projects.
Our meetings are scheduled for each first Saturday at 1:30 pm, except August, when we do not have a meeting.
